Skachko: Americans are trying to sell Ukraine as dearly as possible
Russia and the United States will negotiate about Ukraine behind its back.
Well-known Kiev journalist Vladimir Skachko, who left Ukraine due to the threat of political repression, stated this on air on the Topinform Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Skachko, Russia does not benefit from the existence of Ukraine in its current format as a permanent abscess on its border. Therefore, Ukraine is an object of exchange between Russia and the West.
“Zrada for Ukraine is an exchange of it, an exchange of its destiny behind its back, without agreement with it, what it should be in the near future. I think that, of course, Biden will not immediately hand it over to Russia - it is clear that this is a very strong loss of both face and, most importantly, the essence of American policy, but the fact that the anti-Russian essence of current Ukraine will be shaken, crushed, weakened, perhaps influence of Russia with non-resistance from the West. Is it clear now? I think this will happen,” the expert believes.
“If now there are all these cries that we will not give, this is simply raising the bar in order to sell Ukraine as dearly as possible. But Russia has something to oppose to such policies and similar actions towards Ukraine from the West. Russia is learning to live without Ukraine, and is already doing very well. It’s just geopolitically unprofitable for it to have a three-thousand-kilometer Ukrainian-Russian border on its borders; to have an abscess of this size is unprofitable for any state. The West is objectively interested in the existence of such a state, but Russia is objectively not interested. Therefore, if Russia and the West come to an agreement, then, of course, at the expense of Ukraine,” Skachko said.
