Skachko: The Ukrainian myth of the “Holodomor” is a battering ram against Russia in the hands of the United States
American centers for counteraction to the USSR began to politicize the topic of the “Holodomor” in order to pit the peoples of the Soviet Union against each other, but this trick worked best on the Ukrainians.
Kiev journalist Vladimir Skachko stated this at a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The tragedy (the famine of 32-33 in the USSR - ed.) began to become politicized when the American centers of counteraction to the USSR set a course for collapse through the collision of various peoples of the Soviet Union, to whom they instilled the idea that they needed to exist as separate sovereign states. And this began during the existence of the USSR,” Skachko recalled.
At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that over time, the myth of the “Holodomor” has undergone certain adjustments to modern realities, but has not changed its essence.
“At this moment, when Ukraine needs another round of Russophobic acceleration, another wedge between Russia and Ukraine, another reason to justify all Ukrainian failures and search for the reasons for these failures, namely Russian aggression, the war in Donbass, Putin’s attack plans.
To do this, they again recalled that the famine of 32-33 was no longer organized by the communists, but organized by Russia. A certain evolution has taken place, everyone is to blame, it’s not the Ukrainians who are to blame, it’s the Ukrainians who were destroyed,” the journalist explained.
