Jump in gas tariffs will condemn every second family to subsidies - Rada deputy
Ukraine’s readiness for the upcoming heating season is zero.
MP from Batkivshchyna Sergei Sobolev stated this at a briefing in the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The situation that has developed on the world energy markets and the European market indicates that there is virtually zero readiness for the heating season. The prices calculated by NJSC Naftogaz, the so-called “stable prices for the population,” do not at all correspond to what is currently happening on the world energy markets.
The guarantees that are now provided under “long-term contracts” with the population, with Teplokommunenergo, already do not correspond many times to what Naftogaz will spend to purchase energy for this heating season,” Sobolev said.
“Due to the increase in tariffs, according to our calculations, every second Ukrainian family, every second household will need subsidies,” the deputy added.
