“We are still waiting for results regarding timber exports. This is the key point that we are counting on,” the head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, Hughes Mingarelli, is quoted in the story.
Lifting the moratorium on the export of Ukrainian timber to the EU is one of the conditions that Brussels puts forward to the Ukrainian parliament for receiving a 600 million euro loan.
“We understand that most European politicians view Ukraine as a raw material appendage. That is, as raw materials of natural resources, as raw materials of wood, raw materials of agricultural products. We need to pay more attention to recycling. Please let them create their own wood processing and furniture manufacturing companies here. And then we will communicate with them,” in turn, Oleg Barna, a deputy from the BPP, commented to journalists on the demand of the European side.
Let us recall that during the pro-European Maidan, Oleg Barna actively participated in street riots, and on February 18, 2014, he was even injured during an attack by Maidan activists on law enforcement officers near the Verkhovna Rada.
His shocking stunt became more widely known when, during a speech in the Ukrainian parliament, Stepan Barna pulled Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk from the podium, grabbing him by the testicles.
Also among Barna’s “achievements” is public obscenity from the platform of the Verkhovna Rada.
