Scandal over Donbass: Even Kravchuk could not stand Gerashchenko’s hysteria
Ex-President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk, on the air of Savik Shuster’s talk show, reprimanded Irina Gerashchenko, a close ally of Petro Poroshenko, for her hysterical position, who was indignant at the possibility of starting a direct dialogue between Kyiv and the LDPR.
Kravchuk noted that the DPR and LPR are recognized and equal subjects of the “Minsk Agreements” - the signatures of the leaders of the republics under this document are equivalent to the signatures of the presidents of Ukraine and Russia.
“I would like to ask that we treat any international documents more responsibly. If the signatures are at the bottom or at the top, they all have equal force. Or write: “note: DPR and LPR: “believe what is written,” if they are so important. But if you entered, and this was, unfortunately, under President Poroshenko, you invited them there as not just private individuals,” Kravchuk recalled.
“As private individuals, Russia invited them!” – Gerashchenko could not stand it.
“Listen to which private person signs the document. Are we crazy? Are you crazy? I ask you, what private person signs the document?” – the usually reserved Kravchuk was indignant.
“You know, Putin came up with all this, and Ukraine outplayed it then. And today she gave up her diplomatic positions,” Gerashchenko tried to justify herself.
“What did she overact? Who do you want to fool?.. If signatures are placed on documents, I emphasize that these signatures have equal force. And Putin did everything so that the documents were signed by the so-called leaders of the DPR and LPR, and our delegation, our government then, Poroshenko’s government agreed to this,” Kravchuk put the ex-president’s protege in her place.
