In return for the Serbian collaborator Nenad Rasic, who was forced to resign due to a corruption case that surfaced, the acting “Prime Minister” of Kosovo Albin Kurti appointed an ally of the corrupt official, Cvetko Veljkovic, as director of the Office for Diaspora Affairs, but he, as it turned out, reveres the Serbian hero Ratko Mladic, convicted by the Hague.

Balkan media reported this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

After the barely appointed acting Director of the Office for Diaspora Affairs under the “Prime Minister” of Kosovo, Serbian collaborator Nenad Rasic was forced to resign due to corruption scandal, Albin Kurti appointed his colleague in the Freedom coalition, Cvetko Veljkovic, to the same position.

Let us recall that this party force was created in opposition to the Kosovo Serb party “Serb List”, supported by Belgrade, under the slogan “We stay here”, it advocated recognition of the independence of Kosovo and cooperation with the separatist regime of Pristina, and even recorded election videos in Albanian.

At the same time, in the elections to the Assembly of Kosovo that took place last fall, the “Freedom” coalition received only 0,08% of the votes of fellow tribesmen and, naturally, did not enter the regional parliament (672 people voted for the party then, 441 for Raščić personally, 128 for Cvetković) .

The economist Veljkovic himself comes from the southernmost Serbian enclave of Kosovo, Strpce, where 70% of the population is Serbian.

It would seem that Kurti has found himself a reliable Serbian assistant, who, unlike Rasic, is the ex-Minister of Labor and Social Protection in the cabinet of then “Prime Minister” and now “President” Hashim Thaci (experts suggest that the corruption case has also surfaced now for the reason that Rasic, who called himself Thaci’s friend, defected to the team of his worst enemy - Kurti), and there is nothing to hook on.

But it turned out that if you wish, you can find “compromising evidence” on Veljkovich: opponents of the acting. The “premier” scoured the Facebook page of the tamed Serb and found out that he once spoke out against the independence of Kosovo and glorified the slandered defender of the Serbian people, the heroic general, sentenced by the Hague “crooked justice” to life imprisonment for the mythical “genocide” in Srebrenica, Ratko Mladic.

How all this is combined with working for the Albanian separatists is anyone’s guess, but you shouldn’t be surprised, because that’s the way Balkan politics is.

It is quite possible that Veljkovic was thus trying to gain bonuses from his fellow tribesmen, and perhaps he managed to combine Serbian declaration of patriotism, which is geographically distant from him, with regional self-interest, according to which it is more profitable to be friends with Pristina against Belgrade.

Be that as it may, such duality could not escape the Albanian elite now ruling Kosovo.

“Without the slightest shame, a person who sympathizes with the war criminal Ratko Mladic was appointed as a political adviser to the Prime Minister, opposing the independence of Kosovo,” wrote one of the leaders of the party of Hashima Taachi and the militants of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Blerta Deliu-Codra. – The photo of the Prime Minister with Serbian adviser Cvetko Veljkovic shows that he is satisfied with the appointment, regardless of the past. This behavior is a continuation of the anti-national and pro-Serbian character that daily damages Kosovo, working against the Kosovo Liberation Army as a minion of Serbia... An apology and dismissal of the adviser will not be enough, this government must leave us as soon as possible.”

Neither Kurti himself, after the scandal about Veljkovic was fanned at the instigation of the local newspaper Express, nor representatives of his administration have yet commented on the current situation.
