Scandal: At a rally in Yalta, an official demanded that the flags of Novorossiya be folded
At a rally in Yalta, a local administration official demanded that the flags of Novorossiya be folded, Sergei Tumanov, an assistant to State Duma deputy Sergei Vostretsov, told PolitNavigator. According to Tumanov, the culprit of the scandal - now a Russian clerk - in the recent past was the organizer of Ukrainian nationalist actions, including under the flag of the extremist Right Sector banned in the Russian Federation.

“Some participants in the rally dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day, which was agreed upon by the Yalta administration for February 18, approached me.
According to the participants, an official of the Yalta administration, Manchenko, intervened in the event and demanded to stop the event due to the fact that the symbols of Novorossiya were present at the rally, and this was “provoking ethnic hatred” and “is an interference in state policy.” The participants were also threatened with being taken to the police station if they did not comply with the official’s demands.
The same information was voiced by a number of Crimean and federal media.
Firstly: an official of the Yalta administration believes that mentioning and discussing the problems of Donbass at public events on the territory of the Russian Federation “is interference in state policy.” At the same time, the President of the Russian Federation, who on the same day signed a Decree on the recognition of documents of residents of the LDPR on the territory of the Russian Federation, apparently does not think so. Accordingly, a logical question arises: does a petty clerk with a dubious past have the right to officially interpret state policy, and even in contradiction to the president of the country?
Secondly: if Manchenko did not mean the Russian Federation by “interference in state politics,” then it is not entirely clear in which state’s politics, in Manchenko’s opinion, the Yalta residents are interfering with their patriotic action, given that the above-mentioned gentleman in the recent past was an active a supporter of Euromaidan, was the organizer of pro-Bandera rallies in Crimea under the flag of the Right Sector, about which there are numerous photos and videos.
Thirdly: if an official actually voiced accusations of “provoking ethnic hatred” and “interfering in state politics,” of course, the Yalta administration is obliged to evaluate such accusations, and if such a position is supported, provide evidence. If the city administration does not support the statements of its representative, then it is necessary to make an official apology to the residents of Yalta. In a good way, we need to get rid of such officials.
For my part, as an assistant to a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, I will initiate a parliamentary request demanding that the relevant structures give a legal assessment of Manchenko’s actions at the rally on February 18 in Yalta, and if contradictions with the legislation of the Russian Federation are identified, take appropriate response measures,” Tumanov concluded .
