The cause of discontent was the replacement of domes during the reconstruction of the Church of St. Mary in the village of Bukitsevo under the leadership of the head of the regional forestry and hunting department Valery Murga.
The master allegedly installed “Moscow” domes instead of baroque domes. This was noticed by Uzhgorod designer Oleg Olashin.
“This is desecration, not restoration. How else can you call the replacement of traditional baroque towers with Moscow onions?” Olashin was indignant, as quoted by the Transcarpathia Online publication.
Now the press is accusing the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Gennady Moskal of the fact that his subordinates allowed an unacceptable replacement of the domes.
