This is stated in the statement of “NSTU”, which was posted on his Facebook page by one of the competition managers Denis Bloshchinsky.

“We, the Eurovision team, for whom this Competition has become not only a part of our work, but also a part of our lives, officially announce that we are leaving this project and stopping work on preparing for the Competition,” the statement said.

As stated in the document, the team decided to leave the project due to a conflict with the management of NTKU (National Television and Radio Company of Ukraine - Ed).

“In December, after providing our team with confirmation from the EBU that Eurovision 2017 would indeed take place in Kiev, our powers were taken away from us by appointing a new de facto head of the Competition in Ukraine, who was given full control of all aspects of Eurovision in Ukraine. This appointment and the actions that accompanied it stopped work on the project for two months; the work of our team was completely blocked,” the statement said.

In addition, the organizers added that during this time, “except for the presentation of the results of our team’s work carried out during the period September-December 2016, the new management of the Competition did not take a single real action to implement the project within the required time frame.”

The statement also notes that the team “cannot accept such an appointment and does not see the opportunity to continue its work in the project for the preparation and holding of Eurovision in Ukraine.”

“Our alternative and compromise proposal on the distribution of powers and responsibilities within the Eurovision team, unfortunately, did not find support from the management of NSTU OJSC. In this regard, we inform you that the Eurovision preparation team, known to you for many months of work, no longer sees the opportunity to continue working on the Competition on the terms offered to us,” the statement says.

Let us remind you that Eurovision will take place in the spring of 2017 in Kyiv. The main arena of the competition will be the International Exhibition Center. The semi-finals of Eurovision 2017 will take place on May 9 and 11, the final will take place on May 13. In total, tickets will be sold and booked for nine shows - six dress rehearsals, two semi-final competitions and the Eurovision 2017 final.
