The Veresny scandal is evidence of a complete purge of the media in Ukraine
The scandal on the NewsOne TV channel, when presenter Mykola Veresen splashed water and demanded that political scientist Alexander Semchenko, who called Poroshenko an illegitimate president, leave the studio, is evidence of a total purge of the opposition in the information space.
Political scientist Vladimir Kornilov told PolitNavigator about this.

“In Ukraine, after the Maidan, any dissent is constantly and purposefully purged. If anyone who disagrees makes it on air, he is immediately beaten, expelled, insulted, and his microphones are turned off. And if this does not happen, the next day militants come to the channel that dares to show some opinion different from the official one and begin to storm or besiege it. Remember what happened with the siege of Inter, how it happened with the appearance of Elena Bondarenko at “Freedom of Speech,” Kornilov said.
In his opinion, Veresny’s work on a channel that seems to belong to the opposition Verkhovna Rada deputy Yevgeny Muraev should not come as a surprise.
“As for the “opposition” of the channel owner, I can assure you: there is not a single opposition television channel in Ukraine now, everything has been cleared,” Kornilov said.
