The RAPSI agency reports this.
The Ukrainians will have to pay for unfinished work on the An-70 joint aircraft project. The amount of the claim by the Russian Ministry of Defense is 357,48 million rubles.
It is noted that it was submitted by the Russian side back in July 2015 and was repeatedly postponed for various reasons. The Moscow Arbitration Court will continue to consider the claim of the Russian Ministry of Defense on September 15, 2016.
The essence of the matter is this. In May 1989, between the military and the Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex. O.K. Antonov, an agreement was concluded. According to it, the Kiev company was obliged to carry out and hand over to the customer development work on the creation of the An-70 aircraft. With the collapse of the Soviet Union, continuation of work was complicated.
In 2014, the new Kyiv authorities announced the termination of military-technical cooperation with the Russian Federation, and a ban was imposed on the supply of military and dual-use products to Russia. In March 2014, the Russian Ministry of Defense recovered 75,7 million rubles from Antonov for violating the delivery deadlines for An-70 aircraft. Then the Russian military completely abandoned the purchase of these aircraft.
In the summer of 2015, Russia also stated that Ukraine does not have the right to present the project of the new An-188 transport aircraft as its own, since it is a continuation of the Russian-Ukrainian An-70, but with different engines.
