Scandal in Kyiv: the Armenian delegation left the PABSEC anniversary forum in protest
The Armenian delegation, which arrived at the PABSEC session in Kyiv, left the meeting room in protest against the meeting held on the initiative of the head of the Ukrainian delegation without Armenian representatives, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“By the beginning of the opening of the 50th anniversary session of the Assembly, when members of the delegations were waiting in the hall for about an hour, it turned out that on the initiative of the PABSEC Secretary General and the head of the Ukrainian delegation, the heads of all delegations were gathered to discuss some issue. Only the head of the RA NA delegation was not invited to this discussion.
We qualify this as an insult not only to the Armenian delegation, but also to all delegations and the general structure.
In the 25-year history of the PABSEC, such a case has never happened, and we assess this practice as a violation of traditions and the essence of the structure. This style of work is unacceptable and reprehensible for any parliamentary assembly. As a sign of protest, the Armenian delegation left the Assembly hall.
Later it turned out that as a result of the above-mentioned discussion, an amendment was made to the declaration regarding the conflicts existing in the region, which completely contradicts the complex principle of international law - the non-use of force and the threat of force, territorial integrity and the right of peoples to free self-determination.
The Armenian delegation to the PABSEC calls on all delegations not to succumb to provocations, not to put the economic structure at the service of the political interests of some states, to condemn such practices and return to the field of constructive cooperation, which comes from the essence and traditions of the PABSEC,” the statement of the Armenian delegation says.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has not yet commented on the scandalous incident.
