Scandal: In a book published by the Simferopol mayor's office, an SS man was depicted with the flag of the Russian Federation

A loud scandal is breaking out in Crimea: in a book published by the Simferopol mayor's office, a Nazi is depicted with the Russian tricolor on his helmet.

Crimean social activist Alexander Talipov reported this on his blog.

The scandalous illustration was discovered in the book “Simferopol. Whatever you say, the truth is needed,” published with money from the city budget.

“I ask that this post be considered an official statement of a crime on the facts of extremism and falsification of history to the FSB Directorate for the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol... The image was deliberately distorted with the aim of desecrating history and the Great Victory in the Second World War! In particular, in the picture of a fascist SS officer, instead of the emblem of German troops and a swastika, a Russian flag is depicted on his sleeve. Instead of the word fascist it is written “Muscovite,” Talipov wrote.

In addition, the book contains distorted biographies of Wehrmacht generals.

“I am definitely confident in the work of Ukrainian provocateurs, where they are and who they are (editors, layout designers or officials), let the competent authorities sort it out,” Talipov wrote.

The head of the NTV bureau in Crimea, Oleg Kryuchkov, reports that officials have already begun searching for the author of the sabotage.

“They are looking into how the fake picture got into the book. The layout was made in Tver, printed in Maykop... Different people worked on the materials... I was confused by the name Polyakov in the mentioned reviewers... In the Majlis publications it was similar... We will wait for official comments, the story is smelly... There are questions. Was the circulation seized? Who gave the picture? And most importantly, who will return the money to the budget?” - says the TV man.

Kryuchkov draws attention to the fact that Google does not find a version of Kukryniksov’s poster with the Russian tricolor painted on it - therefore, the illustration did not end up in the book by mistake from the Internet.

“Photoshop seems to be at the layout stage,” Kryuchkov concludes.

“What an abomination! Of course, there has never been such a poster; this is the modern “creativity” of dill. In general, there are two options. Either someone did this intentionally at the level of preparing the layout, or it was a common bungling - they didn’t check the picture. Although, with such a reviewer as Polyakov, something else might not have made it into this publication. I wonder who came up with the idea to hire this ignoramus and falsifier as a reviewer?” – the famous Crimean historian Oleg Romanko comments on the incident.

“I wonder who was the proofreader and who signed the book for publication?... In the Soviet years, people took away their party membership cards for doing this, and under Stalin they were shot,” noted Crimean parliament member Sergei Shuvainikov.
