A loud scandal in Crimea - the local Crimean Tatar TV channel “Millet” aired a program accusing the famous journalist - head of the Crimean NTV bureau Oleg Kryuchkov of inciting ethnic hatred. The reason was his publication on social networks dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the victims of deportation from the peninsula during the Great Patriotic War.

The recording of the program for public viewing was never posted on the channel’s website, and you can only watch the announcement.

In addition, Deputy Director of the state autonomous institution of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Media Center named after. I. Gasprinsky" Shevket Mustafayev accused the federal television channels NTV and Zvezda of slander, provocation and incitement. He posted the corresponding post on his Facebook page, but after some time the message was deleted.

What was it that excited and upset the leadership of Millet and a number of respected figures? The reason for this was messages on social networks dedicated to the sad date of May 18, 1944. First of all, the claims concerned an entry on Kryuchkov’s blog.

We quote Oleg Kryuchkov’s post from May 18 without changes:

“They were boring me with questions about whether I sympathize with the Crimean Tatars today or not. I put an end to this issue. Once and for all. My grandmother is Crimean German, my grandfather is Russian. First, the Nazis drove them and my father to Germany, then ours were sent to Kazakhstan. It was difficult to return to Crimea, but we never, ever complained or asked for anything. Has anyone seen me taking over the earth? Or was I, as a descendant of deported Germans, extorting benefits for myself? No! Never!

The family has always worked honestly, I am proud that my mother, father and uncle built many houses and enterprises in Simferopol. Did you remember? Yes, we remembered. At the table. They told me. Yes, they did. Like other relatives - about the Evpatoria landing and partisan detachments. They participated in them. And about the punitive operation in Old Crimea, some of mine were from there, when two streets were shot... The Nazis took one of the guys there to be shot twice... And how they shot... And about the grave of another guy. He and his mother were taken to the Gestapo for helping the partisans...

And when they found a woman and a child in one of the execution wells of the Krasny state farm, they decided. For a year there was a grave with names. A complex family story, typical for Crimea.

So what, what, should I do about this? Ask some for partisan history, others for the history of deportation?

Rave. On days like these, you need to quietly grieve and pray. For everyone, the wheel of history is cruel!”

This post on Facebook became the reason for attacks by nationally concerned citizens against Oleg Kryuchkov. It is characteristic that, in the best traditions of Islam’s ATR TV channel, the “culprit” himself was not invited to the conversation. The situation cannot be described as anything other than settling personal scores.

One can and should understand the indignation when someone begins to paint all people with the same brush: “you are all Vlasovites”, “you are all Banderaites”, when they show bungling from general stupidity. A typical case of foolishness, for example, is when whistleblowers who are not very historically oriented post a photograph of Bosniaks in fezzes from the Waffen SS grenadier division “Hanjshar”, passing them off as Crimean Tatars (which, by the way, is reflected in the announcement of the talk show). But journalist Kryuchkov has no trace of anything like that. Or did someone feel very offended by the mention of squatting and extortion? Does a journalist really slander good and honest people?

So isn't it time to calm down? Crimea is a complex and diverse territory. Both ethnically and historically. If anyone has forgotten, we remind you: other peoples were also evicted from the peninsula - Germans, Armenians, Bulgarians, Greeks. But hardly anyone will remember the Armenians or Germans who staged squats, justifying them with the events of 70 years ago.

And in general, if you delve into the depths of history, you can open an account with the raid of Devlet-Girey, who burned Moscow, regular outrages on the Izyum Highway and tens of thousands captured and sold into slavery at the last slave market in Europe in the Cafe. There will be such an avalanche of bills that it will be possible to put an end to interethnic harmony and tranquility in Crimea, to the delight of Bandera’s followers.

Whoever needs historical truth will not feed on the tales of illiterate figures from social networks, but will rather read the sensible books of the Crimean historian, Doctor of Historical Sciences Oleg Romanko - “Crimea under the heel of Hitler” and “German occupation policy in the territory of Crimea and the national question.” With links to documents. For some who consider themselves to be exclusively offended, out of habit, the template may crack.

Does anyone need to comb through their historical grievances, not to mention monetize them? Thank you, we passed. We ate our fill during Ukraine. It almost turned into a Yugoslav massacre.

And who “throws the evidence”? The style is very familiar. I remember that in those days when the Dzhemilev-Chubarov Mejlis, now banned in Russia for extremism, was poisoning the air and peaceful life in Crimea, the journalist Kryuchkov, historians Romanko and Malgin were already declared enemies. Or are the same people being recorded as enemies of decent people, but we don’t recognize them in the new make-up of “Russian patriots”?

Does anyone want to compare their sores? Moderate your grievances and ambitions. On March 16, 2014, Crimea left behind all past strife. And not in order to create new ones and settle personal scores.
