Scandal in the Verkhovna Rada: Abramovichus takes away the source of income from Tyagnibok
Kyiv, January 15 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – On Thursday, a scandal broke out at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada - the parliamentary rostrum was blocked by representatives of the Svoboda party.
The occasion was the speech of the Minister of Economy Aivaras Abramovichus, who presented a law to exclude 1251 state-owned enterprises from the list of those not belonging to privatization.
Among them are enterprises of the agro-industrial complex, ports, coal industry, alcohol industry, mechanical engineering, etc., the minister said.
According to him, privatization will happen in the future, now we need to prepare for it and change directors to more effective ones.

However, deputy Alexander Vilkul from the Opposition Bloc pointed out that even without privatization there are many opportunities to bring attractive assets into private ownership.
“There are mechanisms of alienation and fictitious bankruptcies,” Vilkul said.
“It looks particularly cynical to remove Ukrspirt from state ownership - despite the fact that for many years there was a state monopoly on alcohol production, this is one of the sources of budget replenishment,” the deputy continued.
“The Ukrainian authorities are asking for loans all over the world, now during the war we want to sell them for pennies,” Vilkul complained.
However, much more emotional critics of Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s government were former allies from Svoboda. Tyagnibok’s supporters said that Abramovichus’s project is Viktor Yanukovych’s golden dream of selling off tidbits of state property.
“The list includes forestry, oil pipelines, and Ukrzaliznitsa. And they want to reduce pensions for pensioners! This is a gangster crime project! If there are normal deputies in the hall, I urge you to come to the podium with us!” - Svoboda member Yuri Levchenko shouted, after which, together with a dozen like-minded people, they blocked the podium.
Representative of Yatsenyuk’s party, deputy Andrei Ivanchuk, hinted that the Svoboda members were disrupting the vote for a reason. Until recently, the Ministry of Agro-Industrial Complex, which oversees Ukrspirt, was headed by Tyagnybok member Igor Shvaika, and there were reports in the press that Svoboda appointed its own person as the director of Ukrspirt, who works in concert with party sponsors.
“They said that alcohol is the most corrupt industry. I didn’t believe it, but now I see, because the Svoboda party ruled Ukrspirt,” Ivanchuk said.
