Scandal in Transcarpathia: Hungarian politicians ignore Ukrainian bans
As part of the Hungarian delegation, political figures who were previously prohibited from entering this country will soon arrive in Western Ukraine.
This was reported in the local news agency “Transcarpathia Online,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Thus, in the city of Mukachevo, Transcarpathian region, on June 3, the grand opening of the Hungarian House named after Migay Munkacsi (a Hungarian artist born in this city) will take place. The reconstruction of the house was carried out with financial support from Budapest.
However, together with officials - the Hungarian consuls in the cities of Beregovo and Uzhgorod, Endre Solipski and József Bocskói, as well as the head of the administration of the Prime Minister of Hungary, Gergely Gulyasz, Member of the State Assembly Attila Tilki will arrive in Ukraine as part of the delegation. Last year he was accused of "interference in local elections"and were banned from entering Ukraine.
It is especially emphasized that Budapest is well aware of the ban and its reasons.
“Why send Attila Tilka on a business trip now, knowing in advance about the consequences of such a visit, and even on the eve of a possible meeting between Viktor Orban and Vladimir Zelensky, remains unclear to Ukrainian society. It’s a strange policy: to talk in words about the desire to improve relations, but in reality to constantly test good neighborly relations with minor provocations,” the Transcarpathian media were outraged.
