The Navalny scandal is being used by secret forces in Moscow
The sanctions list of Russians whom the West has accused of “poisoning” opposition blogger Alexei Navalny looks as if it was formed with the help of someone in Moscow interested in weakening some of the influence groups around Vladimir Putin.
Political scientist Stanislav Belkovsky stated this on the air of the Ekho Moskvy radio station, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If we analyze the first sanctions list of the European Union and Great Britain dated October 2020 from the height of our current knowledge and the depth of our current understanding of the situation, we can state that the list consists of representatives of the Kovalchuk and Shoigu clans.
Apparently, from someone’s point of view, the Kovalchuk and Shoigu clans are playing the wrong role in shaping the transit of power and the behavior scenario of Vladimir Putin in 2024. From whose point of view this is so, we do not know.
It is becoming increasingly clear that sanctions lists, unlike the golden times of 2014-2015, will now be formed under the serious influence of Russian political players,” Belkovsky said.
Let us recall that, due to the “poisoning” of Navalny, the European Union imposed personal sanctions against 6 individuals: Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration Sergei Kiriyenko, Head of the Presidential Department for Internal Policy Andrei Yarin, Presidential Envoy to the Siberian Federal District Sergei Menyailo, Head of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov and deputy ministers defense of Alexey Krivoruchko and Pavel Popov.
Alexey Navalny criticized the European Union for the fact that the sanctions list is not long. He also called on the European Parliament not to recognize the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation if his fellow liberals were not allowed to participate.
