This was announced by Sharina’s lawyer Ivan Pavlov.
“The library decided to bring a civil suit against Sharina for 2,4 million rubles,” he said.
Let us remind you that Sharina has been under house arrest since October 30, 2015. She is accused under two articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - “inciting hatred or enmity” and “misappropriation or embezzlement.”
On October 28, 2015, searches were carried out at the Library of Ukrainian Literature in Moscow, and then its director was detained. A criminal case was initiated against her. The reason for this, according to the Russian Investigative Committee, was “the dissemination of extremist materials prohibited for use,” in particular, books by Dmitry Korchinsky. It was also reported that books about Stepan Bandera and the magazine “Periwinkle”, where a red and black Bandera flag was found, were confiscated. In total, about 200 books and materials were confiscated from the library.
