The scandalous introduction of monthly fees for gas use was postponed for three months
The scandalous decision of the National Commission for Regulation of Energy and Utilities (NCRECU) to separate the cost of its delivery (the so-called “monthly fee”) from the gas tariff will be suspended for the next three months, and until the start of the 2017-2018 heating season the cost gas for consumers will not change.

The head of NEURC Dmitry Vovk announced this during a briefing on the suspension of this decision. “It (the period of suspension of the decision - Ed.) will last at least three months. This decision will be finalized on Monday. And before the heating period, there will not be a single know-how for consumers, not a single load,” he said.
At the same time, the official added that this decision makes gas tariffs more transparent for consumers.
“In our case, the consumer gets an understanding of what he paid for gas and what he paid for consumption,” Vovk added.
Recall as “PolitNavishgator” already reported, On March 28, NEURC adopted a new methodology for calculating the cost of gas for the end consumer, including the population. According to this decision, from April 1, the gas tariff will consist of two components: the price of gas as a commodity (about 6 UAH per 1 cubic meter) and the cost of its transportation through the gas transportation system and distribution through regional gas distribution networks (the so-called “monthly fee”) . The latter will be calculated based on the maximum throughput of the consumer's meter.
According to experts, as a result of this decision, the monthly fee for those consumers who have only a gas stove (without a gas boiler) and a G 1,6 meter will increase on average by 1-4 times, and for owners of gas stoves without a meter it will increase on average 5-8 times. Also, the new methodology for calculating tariffs will allow regional gas companies to additionally earn about 7,7 billion UAH per year.
