The scandalous SBU officer was unable to justify himself in language for what he acquired through backbreaking labor
Deputy head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, former Crimean SBU officer Sergei Semochko, who refused to support the Russian Spring, appeared on the air of the pro-presidential channel “Direct” to justify himself regarding information that appeared in the media that his the family owns luxury real estate worth 200 million hryvnia, and relatives received passports from the “aggressor country.” However, during his speech, Semochko switched to Russian, explaining that he was not comfortable arguing his position in English.
The host of the program, Alexander Mamai, recalled that Semochko was accused of illegal enrichment, and also that the SBU officer and members of his family have Russian citizenship.
“All my income, penny to penny, is included in the declaration, and I am ready to give a detailed report,” he assured, adding that family members lived in Crimea and were subject to “Putin’s total passportization.”
“With regards to the citizenship of Crimeans: we must remember that about 2 million citizens of Ukraine, who as of 2014 lived in Crimea, became victims of Putin’s total automatic passporting of all Crimeans. Many of them were forced to submit to the occupation regime. But this is not my case. I am a citizen of Ukraine, and my family lives in Ukraine on a permanent basis. Tatyana Lysenko, with whom we are married before God and are raising a child, is also a citizen of Ukraine,” Semochko said, showing his wife’s passport.
After this, the SBU officer apologized to the presenter and switched to Russian, explaining that he thinks in Russian, and therefore it is easier for him to make arguments in his native language.
Speaking about his income, Semochko said that he does not have any cars other than his official one.
“Now I travel in a car, which is on the balance sheet of the foreign intelligence service and which is driven by regular employees of the service. This is not my private car,” he commented.
Continuing the topic of alleged Russian citizenship, Semochko said the following:
“Russian identification numbers were assigned to all citizens. I wouldn’t be surprised if tomorrow a Russian citizen’s passport suddenly appears in my name. For the Russian intelligence services to do this is “one, two, three.” But this did not make me a citizen of the Russian Federation, I repeat once again: “I am a citizen of Ukraine, and that was not why I left Crimea with my guys,” Semochko assured.
