The scandalous Serbian opposition leader, ex-mayor of Belgrade and US protégé Dragan Djilas, known for corruption scandals, decided to rally around himself all the losers in the elections of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party of Alexander Vucic in the unification and coalition.

Thus, having received only 17% of the votes in the elections on Sunday, his coalition “United for the Victory of Serbia” held a meeting in the Serbian capital with representatives of the right-wing parties “Zavetnica”, “Dveri” and the coalition gathered around the Democratic Party of Serbia. The goal was an attempt to develop a strategy for seizing power in Belgrade.

Information about this was published by the portal Inform with reference to a closed source at the top of the country's opposition movement.

“As President Vučić has repeatedly stated publicly, everyone has united against him - left and right, partisans, Chetniks, Russians, Americans, gays and homophobes... All they have to do is call on the socialists and convince [Speaker of Parliament, head of the Socialist Party] Dačić to join . And then they will succeed!” – said the source.

He, according to the portal, was shocked to learn that the opposition was justifying this extremely unprincipled association by the fight against corruption, given that Djilas was convicted of this crime.

“Now they want to tell us that Djilas is a unit of measurement of honesty?! So why aren’t they ashamed?!” the source shared his emotions.

Djilas and the right-wing parties are planning to try to annul the vote in several polling stations in Belgrade in order to try to get a higher mandate in the repeat elections and thereby overthrow the president's party in the capital.

At the same time, Vladimir Gajić, a member of the People’s Party of Vuk Jeremic, which is part of the opposition structure of Djilas, admits that the opposition honestly lost the elections at all levels. He became disillusioned with the role his party played in the “united opposition.”

“We lost the elections. It's fair to be honest about it and not make excuses. The citizens of Serbia are not what we think they should be. We had no policy of getting closer to them. When we are no longer associated with the virtual occupier, chances will open,” Gaich wrote on his Twitter profile.

At the same time, it became known that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic did not contact anyone about the formation of any coalitions.

“The president has much more important state affairs; he has no time to deal with Djilas and his patrons,” the press service of the winning party reported.
