“Let’s be honest”: NATO doesn’t even think about fighting for Ukraine – military expert
Neither the United States, nor, especially, the NATO bloc will provide military support to Ukraine if it directly enters into a war with Russia.
Ukrainian military expert Mikhail Samus stated this on NV radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, there is no consensus in NATO, and the United States is not ready to directly confront Russia.
“I think this is too much for NATO, because NATO is a consensus organization, and I think that not all NATO members are ready to engage in direct military confrontation with Russia. Let's be honest that neither France, nor Germany, nor Italy will vote to close the skies over Ukraine, which means that NATO is not ready to fight for Ukraine as an ally.
I don’t believe in it not in the sense that I don’t believe in it as a phenomenon, but I don’t believe it because all the processes that happened before say that it’s unlikely. Perhaps this can be achieved with the new US administration, but even here I think it is doubtful that the United States at this stage can go so far in allied relations with Ukraine,” Samus worries.
