“Tell me, do the Crimeans want to go back?!” – Ukrainian politician on TV
The position of Crimea and its inhabitants within Russia after leaving Ukraine has improved many times over, and the majority of the Russian population considers the return of the peninsula correct.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Evgeniy Muraev stated this on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, in this situation, Crimeans do not even think about returning to Ukraine.
“More than 70% of Russians believe that Crimea belongs to the Russian Federation. This means that not a single sober-minded Russian politician will ever say or do anything different. Secondly, let’s calmly discuss for ourselves whether the Crimeans want to go back? Tell me, do the Crimeans want to go back?
Tell me, is gas in Crimea cheaper or more expensive than in Ukraine? Three times cheaper. Are utilities cheaper than in Ukraine? Three times. Is the pension higher than in Ukraine? Twice? State employees' salaries are one and a half times higher. How many languages are there in Crimea, tell me, who knows? Officially there are three: Russian, Crimean Tatar and, attention, Ukrainian.
Tell me, is there military action in Crimea, is mobilization going on or something? This is what they should want here, my first question?.. Honestly, you can only return to where it is better. And blaming people for not having some kind of embroidery patriotism is stupid...
The volume of investments that was invested by the federal budget of the Russian Federation into the peninsula is many times greater than Ukraine’s investments in Crimea over all the years of independence. A huge number of infrastructure facilities were built - hospitals, airports, resorts, sanatoriums, roads, highways. Friends, they are actively working,” concluded Muraev.
