Ukrainian transporting Syrian illegal immigrants to Hungary captured
In the Transcarpathian region, three Syrian citizens were detained who were trying to illegally move to Hungary.
This was reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Employees of the local branch of the State Border Service detained two men and a woman at night, who reported that they were citizens of Syria.
During further search activities, border guards of the Kosino department also detained the smugglers of illegal migrants. They turned out to be two men, one of whom is a citizen of Ukraine, the other is a stateless person.
The attackers were driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV. During an inspection of the car, law enforcement officers found three packages containing a gray-green substance, which was likely marijuana, as well as hunting cartridges.
At the moment, border guards are finding out all the details of organizing the illegal travel of foreigners and establishing the circle of other persons involved. The crime has already been reported to the National Police.
Let us remember that Ukraine has long been considered a haven for Islamic militants and other terrorists, as well as their transshipment base on the way to Europe. In addition, in 2020 Ukraine became the most dangerous and criminalized country in Europe – in particular, it has become a leader in the production of synthetic drugs.
