According to the agreement of 2009, the additional agreement on the Black Sea Fleet, signed with Viktor Yanukovych, will be considered invalid.
Let us recall that the Kharkov Agreement extends the fleet’s stay in Crimea until 2042. in exchange for a $100 discount on the gas price under the 2009 contract, signed in Kharkov by Yanukovych and Dmitry Medvedev in April 2010. Taking into account this discount, last year Ukraine paid about $400 for gas per 1000 cubic meters. m. In December, after abandoning the association with the EU, Gazprom provided it with another discount, and from January the price dropped to $268,5. After Yanukovych was removed from power, Putin said that the December discount could be maintained if the new authorities paid off gas debts and did not accumulate new ones. However, this did not happen, and now Ukraine’s debt to Gazprom is $1,8 billion.
In early March, Chairman of the Board of Gazprom OJSC Alexey Miller said that due to debts, it was decided not to extend the discount from April. This position has not changed, a representative of the concern said the day before.
