How many more downed Boeings do we need to stop the carnage in Donbass?

The well-fed cannot understand the hungry, this is known. In the same way, a person who has escaped from artillery shelling will not be understood by a well-groomed metrosexual fiddling with a smartphone in a cozy cafe (of course, until he himself is covered with shells).

But what simply causes disgust and rejection is the joy and jubilation over the losses of the militia in the Donbass and the tacit approval of the victims among the civilian population.

Every day there are more and more victims in Donetsk, weapons of mass destruction are used more and more often, and in Kyiv there are demands to use aviation. To the fullest extent, to bring down them in HAIL, and more of them, so that they come to their senses.

The territory of Donbass was once de jure attached to Ukraine, but in fact it turned out that another people lives here, with different heroes, landmarks and historical memory. But if because of this it is possible to hit peaceful towns and villages with multiple rocket launchers, and present the news about the victims of these attacks as the destruction of terrorists - well then, forgive me, this is something akin to rabies, a veterinarian is required here.

Donbass is in flames from the massacre perpetrated by the “principled” Kiev. Authorized murder of people, cold-blooded and methodical destruction of one’s own people. How do Kyiv politicians and ordinary citizens imagine their future life together?

The pendulum of history is heavy and swings for a long time. It will swing in the opposite direction, it’s a matter of time, and then what? Let the hysterical Kyiv journalists or the residents of Lviv think about this, demanding that the separatists in the east be razed to the ground. They will all be scared, and they will find out why later.

But today shells are exploding in Shakhtersk and Lugansk, and entire families are dying in Gorlovka and Donetsk. The question is who will be responsible for this. Politicians? Oligarchs? Very doubtful. For someone to be responsible for something in Ukraine is nonsense. Well, unless they find a scapegoat, a noticeable and useless figure. Like Lyashko, fortunately, in Ukraine there is a lot of this stuff. They will add Kolomoisky to this, as the most active and odious, and blame everything on them.

It’s very interesting where the world community is, so democratic and principled in matters of freedom and respect for the individual and all values. Where are your values, comrades? Where has humanism gone? The Ukrainian elite uses weapons that even the Americans did not use in Iraq and Afghanistan. Now, it turns out, this is an internal matter of Ukraine, and everything that Kiev does is legitimate. It’s so legitimate that they give money and also promise.

Recently, a Boeing was shot down in the skies over Ukraine, killing 298 people, many of them children. Europe is horrified, it demands that those responsible be punished, it demands an investigation, humanitarian corridors, the presence of European specialists, and European police officers on duty at the scene of the tragedy. Europe began to stir. On all channels there is an endless series of pictures from the scene of the tragedy and photographs of the unfortunate passengers, and throughout Europe there are prayer services, tears, lit candles and flowers at the Dutch Embassy.

And for us this is a tragedy, and we feel sorry for these people. But why are children from Gorlovka, Ugledar, Lugansk and Shakhtersk worse? And why is their death legitimate and logical, and why is the taking of a European’s life a tragedy on a planetary scale?

How will the residents of Amsterdam react if their doll streets are covered by howitzer artillery? Will it be sweet for you? Don't think. But Europeans cannot imagine this. What can be done to make it clear to Europe that this is not a testing ground, and the life of a Donbass resident is no less valuable than the life of any European? And the killing of civilians cannot be legitimate.

The world must understand that irresponsibility and impunity lead to disaster. But what does it take for this understanding to come, another downed Boeing? I hope there are other ways.
