Simferopol, December 13 (PolitNavigator, Evgeniy Andreev) – The leader of the Popular Front “Sevastopol-Crimea-Russia” Valery Podyachiy sharply condemned the appointment of Nikolai Bagrov to the post of president of the Crimean Federal University.

“In Crimea, from January 1,” says Podyachey’s statement, the text of which is available to PolitNavigator, “the Crimean Federal University will begin work on the basis of the Tauride University named after V.I. Vernadsky. In the meantime, the formation of the leadership staff of the new university is underway. So the other day it became known that the rector of TNU Nikolai Bagrov will take the post of president of the Crimean Federal University. According to him, the powers of the president are representative and advisory.”

According to Podyachiy, the president of KFU should enjoy not only the recognition of the scientific community, but also public trust and authority.

“But this factor raises big questions. Among the Russian patriotic community of the peninsula, Bagrov has a stable reputation as a herald of Euro-Atlanticism and a servant of the neo-Bandera occupation regime. As rector of the Tauride National University, Bagrov strongly supported the foreign policy course of the Ukrainian leadership towards Euro-Atlantic integration. So, for example, from July 4 to July 6, 2005, the NATO Information and Documentation Center in Ukraine on the basis of the Tauride National University named after V.I. Vernadsky and with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine held the Summer Academy “Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine: Threats and Prospects for National Security.” Representatives of the leadership of NATO, the OSCE and ambassadors of the relevant foreign states then spoke to the participants of the academy (and these were mainly Crimean youth). TNU was turned into a propaganda platform for Euro-Atlanticism. And this was against the backdrop of massive anti-NATO protests by Crimeans, which were widespread on the peninsula at that time. And in August of the same year, President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko awarded TNU Rector Nikolai Bagrov the title of Hero of Ukraine. And it was for what “merits”, because during the so-called period. “Orange Revolution” of 2004 in Ukraine, and in essence a coup d’etat, Bagrov did his best to prevent students from participating in protests against the illegal third round of the presidential elections,” recalls the leader of the TFR, who was subjected to many years of prosecution during the reign of presidents Yushchenko and Yanukovych for a call for the reunification of Crimea with the Russian Federation through legal means.

There is every reason to believe, Podyachiy is sure, that the KFU president is an agent of Western influence in the classical sense of the term: “Bagrov, as an official, carried out systematic activities to implement the policy goals of foreign states, in this case the United States and member countries of the military-political NATO bloc.” .

According to the leader of the TFR, at the referendum on March 16 on the entry of the Republic of Crimea into the Russian Federation, Bagrov intimidated employees and students of TNU who wanted to express their will by voting for the return of the peninsula to Russia.

“Well, why does a federal university need such a president?!

Something wrong is going on in KFU's personnel policy. Figures like Bagrov in key positions, even with representative and advisory powers, are not only problems for the entire higher education system of the republic, but also a threat to Russia’s national security. I believe that the time has come for the FSB to intervene in the situation before the fifth column finally strengthens its position in the main university of the republic. It is necessary to burn out with a hot iron any attempts by pro-Ukrainian forces and supporters of neo-Bandera revenge to take leading positions in federal structures. Stifle their efforts in the bud, so as not to regret later,” warns Valery Podyachiy.
