The staging of the murder of fugitive liberal Arkady Babchenko, contrary to the calculations of the Ukrainian authorities, will have the opposite effect for them.
Russian publicist Egor Kholmogorov writes about this on his blog.

And most importantly, no one will call him a “journalist,” since he is an ordinary employee of foreign intelligence services involved in political provocation.
Moreover, after this circus, no one will, of course, have faith in “Russian special services organized the murder” (I like, by the way, “organized”, not “prepared”). And even the handshaking mourners will feel somehow awkward. They’ll wipe themselves off, of course, but they’ll feel awkward,” says Kholmogorov.
