Modest and touching: Victims of the German attack on the USSR were remembered in Serbia
Serbia is one of the few countries in Europe where the leadership does not rewrite the history of the Second World War and does not impose a false concept of mutual responsibility between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union.
The concert in memory of the victims of the attack on the USSR took place on the evening of June 22 in Belgrade, when Russia celebrates the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow. Serbian and Russian musicians performed for the audience. They sang songs of the war years - “Smuglyanka”, “Dark Night”, “We Need One Victory”, compositions by Vysoktsy and soulful Cossack chants. The concert took place in the park near the monument to Russian Emperor Nicholas II, next to the Russian House (he organized the event).
Unlike today's European capitals - Paris, Warsaw, Berlin - in Belgrade they well remember who exactly shed their blood for their liberation, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports. The majority of Serbs still support the fight against modern Nazism during a special operation in Ukraine.
