Whining of lackeys from Kyiv: “USA, introduce new sanctions! Europe has betrayed us!”
The Nord Stream 2 pipeline, bypassing Ukraine, is a route for corruption from Russia to the European Union. Deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Affairs Anna Gopko stated this during the round table “Energy Security of Ukraine,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The issue of Nord Stream 2 is not only about the export of Russian gas to the EU, it is also about the export of corruption, because not only the former chancellors of Germany, but also the current politicians of Austria and many other countries are deeply integrated in ensuring that this the project took place,” said Gopko.
According to her, the Ukrainian side hopes that the United States will impose sanctions against European companies that are taking part in the construction of Nord Stream 2.
“When we talk about chances, we are not talking about dreamers, but about those who are chiseling this rock. We hope that the next Javelins for Ukraine will be American sanctions on companies involved in the construction of Nord Stream 2. We expect this, that in addition to tough statements from the State Department and from the US President on Nord Stream 2, there will also be decisive steps. There are five legislative initiatives that are now in the Senate, in the House of Representatives, negotiations are taking place, and we really hope that this will be approved,” Gopko said.
Earlier, PolitNavigator cited the words of non-factional Verkhovna Rada deputy Sergei Melnichuk, who called for preparations for the fact that earnings on the transit of Russian gas to EU countries will decrease significantly after the construction of Nord Stream 2.
