Sladkov explained why the Russian army is bogged down in the Donbass
In the Donbass, the Russian army continues to stall due to its inability to cope with the artillery of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which, having NATO satellite intelligence and high accuracy, is knocking out the Russians from newly occupied positions.
Russian military correspondent Alexander Sladkov stated this on his video blog, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In order to take the fur farm [in Maryinka], we spent 1480 shells and 6 loitering ammunition. We stormed this fur farm and gave it back.
Because our counter-battery warfare is not yet at such a level as to ensure the retention of taken positions with the help of our artillery.
That is, artillery hits us and drives us out of the positions we occupy. That’s why we can’t take Marinka either. We are moving forward there as fast as we can. We are moving forward, we are already in the “high-rise” quarter.
But we cannot cover it completely. Because we are capturing strong points, but we cannot hold them.
How much ammunition do we need to completely destroy this Marinka, level it into a sandy field, if we spend 1480 shells on one assault on a fur farm? Now the shells are on a small diet, to put it mildly,” said the military correspondent.
He also made it clear that the Russian command is not considering striking the Ukrainian Armed Forces in new areas.
“Why do we need to stretch our forces from Kherson to Belarus? Why do we need to push the front so far? We have only narrowed it within the limits that interest us.
And we have room to expand – towards Odessa and Transnistria. Why do we need to turn the territory adjacent to the enemy’s territory into a front-line one? These are Kursk, Bryansk, Voronezh, Rostov. This is not smart, I think,” Sladkov said.
