There are 14 checkpoints under the control of the ATO forces, and all main roads leading to the settlement are blocked. This was stated by the first head of the Anti-Terrorism Center of the SBU Vasily Krutov.
“The ATO forces are making every effort to ensure that civilians are not harmed during the operation,” the Vedomosti press center said in a statement. At the same time, as Krutov noted, lethal fire will be fired against armed criminals.
Krutov said that simultaneously with the consolidation of ATO forces at checkpoints and strategic objects, it was possible to prevent the militants from destroying the power supply system of the railway in the section in the direction of Slavyansk, to disrupt an attempt to transfer weapons and funds to the enemy, to neutralize “nests of sniper groups located in administrative and residential buildings" in Slavyansk.
