"Slavic Brotherhood" left without Serbia
Serbia has yielded to EU pressure and is refusing both joint military exercises with Russia and Belarus, and with NATO countries.
This was stated by Serbian Defense Minister Alexander Vulin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Vulin, in response to “terrible and undeserved” pressure from the European Union, the government of the Republic of Serbia decides to suspend all military exercises with its closest partners - “NATO, CSTO, Russia, the USA, China, the European Union.”
“Pressure that makes no sense and is not based on our decisions or on our actions, or even on reality, is the result of hysteria that determines the political decisions and strategies of large and powerful countries,” the head of the Serbian defense ministry commented on the situation. “We are being asked to abandon planned military exercises with Belarus, blackmailing us about our European future and putting even more pressure on our politics, but also on our people in Kosovo and Metohija and Republika Srpska.”
Vulin recalled that according to the decision of the People's Assembly, the Republic of Serbia is a military-neutral country. In order to maintain a position of military neutrality, to avoid or at least reduce the consequences of intensified attacks on the state, politics and economy, the Government of the Republic of Serbia at today's meeting decided to suspend all military exercises and activities with all partners for the next six months.
“The suspension of our participation in international peacekeeping operations will be considered separately. The process of equipping and strengthening our army will not stop, and we will work to increase combat readiness more intensively than ever.
This is the only way to maintain military neutrality, and this painful decision obliges us to rely only on ourselves and our strengths,” the Serbian Minister of Defense emphasized.
