According to the official representative of the Russian Investigative Committee, Vladimir Markin, “this book is unique - it is based on evidence collected by the Investigative Committee of Russia during the investigation of crimes related to the use of prohibited means and methods of warfare.”
The book contains testimonies from participants in the events, photographic documents and materials from international organizations that documented evidence of war crimes in south-eastern Ukraine.
Markin noted that the book is intended to draw the attention of the international community and international human rights structures to the blatant facts of violence against the civilian population, primarily against defenseless women and children, and to encourage the international community to take more active action to peacefully resolve the conflict in south-eastern Ukraine.
“The material presented in the book represents an objective analysis of the situation in southeast Ukraine from the position of respect for human rights and the principle of the rule of law,” said a representative of Sledkom.
