According to investigators, the 38-year-old suspect and his friends were hunting on August 7 in the area of the village of Alexandria, Kizlyar district. While located near Lake Achikol, the man, as reported in the ICR release, “fired a shot from a hunting rifle, fatally wounding a 32-year-old acquaintance, whom he mistook for a wild boar.”
A criminal case has been initiated under Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Causing death by negligence.”
RIA Dagestan clarifies that the suspect is a police lieutenant colonel.
