The investigator opened a case into the death of 6 people due to the Obezdnaya collapse near Simferopol
Simferopol, September 28 (PolitNavigator, Evgeny Andreev) – The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code (causing death by negligence of two or more persons) regarding the death of six people as a result of a soil collapse on the Dubki-Mirnoye highway section.

According to the investigation, on the night of September 28, a car containing eight people was moving along the Dubki-Mirnoye highway. On an unlit section of the road, the car fell into a hole 8 meters deep, formed as a result of the collapse of the road surface above the railway tunnel. As a result, a one-year-old boy and a teenage girl were hospitalized with injuries, while the remaining six people, including two children, died at the scene.
All circumstances of the incident are currently being clarified. The criminal investigation continues.
In 2012, PJSC Yuzhdorstroy received UAH 435 million. for the construction of a bypass road in Simferopol. In particular, 7 million UAH were allocated for the final stage of construction of a transport interchange at the intersection of the Simferopol – Evpatoria – Mirnoye – Dubki road (6 km) and the Simferopol – Nikolaevka highway (75,7 km). The work was completed in 2013.
