Knew too much. Why did the “important” SBU man die in Kyiv?
Senior investigator for especially important cases of the 2nd department of the 1st department of the pre-trial department of the Main Investigation Department of the SBU, Roman Zakladny, was involved in the events of 2014 in eastern Ukraine, which could have been the reason for his murder, which took place tonight.
Andrey Zolotarev, head of the Third Sector Center, stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The murder of Roman Zakladnoy could have happened either on domestic grounds, or because he knew too much. Such murders on domestic grounds have already happened, for example, even under Poroshenko, a representative of the presidential administration was killed, it turned out that it was a banal domestic crime.
But Roman Zakladny dealt with the events of 2014. Perhaps this is the reason. It could have been removed by people interested in preventing the whole truth about these events from coming to light, when, in particular, Crimea was essentially exchanged so that those who came to power through the Maidan would remain in power. Roman Zakladny was a senior investigator for particularly important cases, a person through whom a huge amount of information passed, including information the publication of which could harm the interests of certain individuals,” Zolotarev believes.
Zakladny's body was discovered on the night of July 15 in the Obolonsky district of Kyiv. The corpse was found without shoes, with pockets turned out and traces of blood on the head. The two mobile phones that Zakladny usually used were not found on him. Based on the death of the investigator, the SBU opened a criminal case under the article of murder (Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine); several versions of the cause of death are now being considered. Roman Zakladny was involved in the investigation of criminal proceedings related to high treason and events in eastern Ukraine.
