“Leaked” after the attack Sivokho assures that Russia will leave Donbass
Moscow, instead of continuing the integration of Donbass into Russia, is allegedly trying to get rid of it as soon as possible.
This was stated on the YouTube channel “Smotryashchie” by ex-adviser to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Sergei Sivokho, who, as is known, lost his position shortly after the attack by nationalists.
“The current situation is such that Russia doesn’t really need Donbass right now. Now it’s like a suitcase without a handle; it takes a huge amount of money to maintain it even at a minimum level, so that it all looks more or less decent. And Russia now wants to negotiate as many conditions as possible for itself in order to leave there. That’s it,” he said.
Sivokho emphasized that not everyone in the Ukrainian establishment needs the return of Donbass to the control of Kyiv.
“I think that the Ukrainian leadership really needs the return of Donbass and Crimea, we know the president’s mood. And what’s going on around the president, I know some people whom I trust, and everything else that revolves around the president – I very much doubt that these people are striving to ensure that some of the initiatives announced by the president are implemented,” added the former adviser to the NSDC secretary .
