“Servants of the People” appealed to Zelensky with a demand to sever diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation and send NATO troops to Ukraine

Members of the Servant of the People faction, controlled by the President of Ukraine, called on the head of state to sever diplomatic relations with Russia, mobilize reservists and ask NATO to station military contingents and missile systems on Ukrainian territory.

This is stated in a statement by members of the faction, which was published on her blog by Verkhovna Rada deputy Liza Bogutskaya, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Deputies also propose asking NATO to introduce ships to patrol the Black Sea, and the Cabinet of Ministers to terminate the agreement with Russia on the joint use of the Sea of ​​Azov and the Kerch Strait.

“We call on the President of Ukraine, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine:

– sever diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation;

– submit for consideration of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the draft Law of Ukraine “On Territorial Defense”;

– carry out the conscription of reservists into the Armed Forces of Ukraine and begin mobilization activities in advance;

– urgently appeal to the governments of the signatories of the Memorandum of Security Assurances in connection with Ukraine’s accession to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons of December 5, 1994 (Budapest Memorandum) of Great Britain and the United States of America to temporarily send their military contingents to the territory of Ukraine as a deterrent to possible aggression on the part of the Russian Federation, in view of the violation of the Russian Federation’s obligations under the Memorandum to refrain from the threat or use of force against Ukraine;

– in accordance with paragraph c) of Article 3 of the Law of Ukraine “On the procedure for admission and conditions of stay of units of the armed forces of other states on the territory of Ukraine”, immediately conclude and submit for ratification by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine international agreements with the relevant states - strategic partners to simplify the procedure for admission to the territory Ukraine of their military contingents;

– contact the governments of NATO partner states with proposals:

a) on the temporary (for the period of aggravation caused by the build-up of troops (forces) of the Russian Federation near the borders of Ukraine) deployment on the territory of our state of units of anti-ship missiles and air and missile defense, as well as warships in the littoral waters of Ukraine, in order to deter possible aggressive actions Moscow from sea and air,

b) on urgent military-technical assistance to Ukraine with weapons and ammunition to deter possible aggression and provide for the urgent defense needs of Ukraine in the event of its implementation,

c) on temporary (for a period of exacerbation due to the build-up of troops (forces) of the Russian Federation near the borders of Ukraine) deployment in the Black Sea of ​​a joint operation to patrol sea lanes from the Bosporus Strait in the direction of the Black Sea ports of Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine;

– to submit for consideration to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine as urgent bills on abandoning the concept of joint use of the Sea of ​​Azov and the Kerch Strait with Russia, the formalization of the state maritime border and the implementation of other international legal measures in the Azov and Black Seas and the Kerch Strait,” the statement says.

The document also calls for a refusal to import Russian products and services, and for Ukrainian citizens located in the Russian Federation to return home.
