“Servants of the People” rushed about in search of their candidates for the elections, but there is no chance - political scientist
Local elites have a much stronger position on the eve of regional elections than the Servant of the People party, so it seeks to find local competitors, which explains some nominations.
Doctor of Political Sciences Anna Malkina stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Those leaders who created regional parties have a better chance of winning local elections - the results are determined by the local community. And this local counterbalance determined that the Servant of the People party began to rush around in search of those individuals who could compete with them and have recognition.
This situation created the conditions for interesting personnel decisions. For example, if we talk about Irina Vereshchuk’s candidacy for the mayor of Kyiv elections, then it was a rather original, technological move. Does she have a chance to win? I think not. And it’s unlikely that anything will change in this situation before the end of October,” the expert said.
