There is a rumor in Kyiv: Poroshenko is creating a new party
There is a rumor in Kyiv political circles that ex-President Petro Poroshenko is creating a new political party, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This was reported by the Kiev telegram channel Klymenko Time with reference to an unnamed Ukrainian political strategist.
“Poroshenko is creating a political party. Yes, again. Yes, one more.
But now without him. So that there are no connections with him. At least on paper and officially. In general, like the channel “Direct”, only a party.
One interesting thing is that no decision has yet been made on the party’s nomination for local elections. Most likely it won't be. But we have very big plans for the parliamentary elections. Which Poroshenko now really wants to do ahead of schedule. He is not interested in sitting “in the back row” of the Rada with his small faction. So in the near future we expect the thesis about the need for re-elections to be introduced into the media.
The preliminary positioning of the new party is “the party of professionals.” Therefore, again, for the near future, media resources and controlled opinion leaders have been given the go-ahead to place special emphasis on the unprofessionalism of Zelensky’s team,” the telegram channel says.
Klymenko Time makes the assumption that it was under this party that Poroshenko’s man, the ex-deputy head of his administration Konstantin Eliseev, could leave the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry. Also, according to the telegram channel, Deputy Minister Elena Zerkal, who recently left the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will also be in this party.
“If it was this party that Berezovets (Poroshenko’s close political strategist Taras Berezovets-Ed) spoke about not so long ago, he, of course, staged an obvious false start. Well, as before, we consider Poroshenko’s idea of appointing the fired Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Sergei Krivonos to the post of head of this party a failure. Although the idea is most likely preliminary and working. And it will also be tested in focus groups and surveys,” sums up Klymenko Time.
