Rumors about the invincibility of Turkish drones turned out to be too exaggerated
Only people who understand nothing about weapons systems can talk about the powerlessness of Russian weapons against Turkish UAVs.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that military expert, editor-in-chief of the Arsenal of the Fatherland magazine Viktor Murakhovsky said this in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets.
“All the cries about the powerlessness of Russian weapons in the face of Turkish attack drones,” says our expert, “are all publications of armchair Internet hamsters who have no idea about the use of weapons systems, including the same drones. They judge by pictures on YouTube, TV, Internet networks... This is absolutely not a serious approach to the topic,” said Murakhovsky.
He noticed that most of the picture of modern war is video from cameras installed on UAVs, which are not on an anti-aircraft missile, or on a cannon shell, or on the missiles of the Smerch complex. As a result, the conventional director selects the most successful shots, sending misses, launches against false targets and the last seconds of the life of a downed drone to the trash bin.
The analyst also says that, despite all these videos, the bulk of equipment damage and personnel losses were not caused by drones.
“The bulk of the targets hit are still the result of artillery: cannon, rocket, and anti-tank missile systems. Although drones have certainly contributed to this matter. But it was not decisive,” the publication’s interlocutor noted.
The expert is convinced that in the event of a real confrontation with the Russian army, Turkish or Israeli drones will not play a big role.
“And not only against the Russian army. Let's take Syria, for example. Remember when Turkish troops began hitting the Syrian army with their attack drones? Then, too, there was a push on Internet sites, there was such hype! But just a few days later it all ended immediately. And why? Yes, because the Syrians woke up, brought their air defense systems to that area and knocked down all these Bayraktar and Anka, as a result they stopped flying there altogether. Do you think our army is weaker than the Syrian one?” Murakhovsky summed up.
