Donetsk, May 28 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – In Donetsk, service dogs cannot be picked up from the airport: smart animals have been without water and food for three days.

There are seven service dogs in a closed enclosure on the airport grounds: 3 German shepherds, 3 Labradors and one cocker spaniel. Among them are two pregnant bitches. The dogs have been without water or food for three days. The animals are specially trained to search for explosives, Yevgeny Zhukov, senior instructor of the canine service of the airport security department, told 62.ua.
During the urgent evacuation of employees from the airport, the dogs could not be taken with them. Later it was no longer possible to do this, since full-fledged hostilities broke out in the area of the airport.
“We ask, if not help organize the evacuation, then at least give the animals water and food. The dogs were locked in an enclosure, and they could not run away. The enclosure is located immediately behind the premises of the linear police department, next to them there is a box of food. “The dogs also urgently need water,” the senior instructor asked the opposing sides.
As Navigator reported, since May 26, fighting has been going on at the airport, including with the use of aviation by the Ukrainian military. Security forces claim that the airport is under their control.
