A change in the leadership of the Communist Party, which oversees the improvement of the beaches of Sevastopol, is long overdue, - social activist
Sevastopol, July 04 (Navigator, Viktor Orlov) – In Sevastopol, a change in the management of the utility company overseeing the improvement of the city’s beaches is long overdue.
Elena Prokina, a representative of the All-Russian Popular Front, stated this to Navigator, commenting on the city government’s initiative to dismiss the heads of utility companies for violations identified during inspections.
Prokina believes that, as in previous years, “Sevastopol was not ready for this tourist and beach season.”

“The beach is not only more or less organized access to the sea. The beach is an entire infrastructure that allows people to relax comfortably and efficiently. Today on the beaches of Sevastopol there is nothing but sellers of hats and shawarma. A huge problem is the lack of civilized toilets on the beaches. Of course, visitors to the sea know how to relieve minor needs, but large needs baffle them. Dirt, unsanitary conditions. You can’t take your child, you can’t use it yourself. The second problem is the usual beach service. Umbrella, sun lounger and storage room. Of course, the most active beach business entrepreneurs arbitrarily occupy the territory of city beaches and provide a “place in the sun” for money. But this money goes into the pockets of entrepreneurs who are in no way interested in investing it in the construction of the same toilets,” she said.
“If on city beaches someone else cleans up after themselves and that comrade who forgot the rule about “don’t litter,” then huge piles of garbage accumulate in the areas adjacent to the beaches. In addition, the so-called Skalki and Soldatsky Beach can be classified as city beaches in terms of the number of people who visit them and leave garbage behind. If anyone cleans up there, it’s only social activists from among environmentalists,” added Prokina.
“Trading on the beaches is a profitable and profitable business. The competition for trade in the beach areas has always been fairly conditional. And both the administration and the public enterprise “Blagoustroistvo” took part in accepting geshefts in official amounts and unofficial sums,” says the social activist.
“The condition is terrible on all beaches (including in the Park) with piers. second tiers, but young people climb, and you can’t stop it,” she also drew attention to safety issues.
“The task of today for the new leadership is to organize the notorious toilets and organize the cleaning of the beaches. Big things begin with small actions,” says Prokina.
