Changing Surkov to Kozak: In the USA for the first time they announced what would happen
The change of the curator of Ukrainian issues in the Kremlin and the arrival of the head of the Russian Presidential Administration Dmitry Kozak to this position instead of presidential assistant Vladislav Surkov is not what the United States would like. Kozak will not make the concessions the United States needs and is well known for his tough policy in Transnistria.
Former US Ambassador to Ukraine John Herbst said this on the radio “Novoye Vremya”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We do not see in Kozak a person who can make the concessions we need. His behavior in relation to Transnistria, in relation to other frozen conflicts, is not the behavior of a person who makes peace, it is the behavior of a person who pursues a policy of dictatorship.
Therefore, in my opinion, this change is neither a good step nor a bad step. It’s just a step,” Herbst said.
