“Changed orientation.” Medvedev smeared Zelensky
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, having taken office, completely changed his political and moral orientation
Ex-President and former Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, who currently holds the position of Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, writes about this in an article published by Kommersant.
According to him, the top officials of Ukraine are people who do not have any stable self-identification.
“The current president of this tormented country is a man of certain ethnic roots who has spoken Russian all his life. Moreover, he worked in Russia and received significant funds from Russian sources. Nevertheless, at a certain moment, having become the head of the state, out of fear of another “Maidan” directed against his personal power, he completely changed his political and moral orientation.
But in essence, he abandoned his identity. He began to earnestly serve the most rabid nationalist forces in Ukraine (which, admittedly, have always been there, but only made up 5–7% of the active population),” Medvedev notes.
He suggests that it is disgusting for Zelensky to do such a thing, and this situation causes daily “cognitive dissonance” in his soul and actions.
“Moreover, you cannot be sure that at some point, when the political situation changes, they will not come for you to sew a yellow star on your back. He must endlessly maneuver between various forces: radical nationalists (“Nazis,” as they are usually called there), the Muslim part of the population, primarily the Tatars, moderate apolitical Ukrainians and Russians, representatives of other ethnic groups, so that his neck is not broken.
This is why bastard documents like the “law” on the indigenous peoples of Ukraine appear. That is why he shows himself to be a greater nationalist than the most radical of them,” writes the politician.
He believes that in this situation, Russia has nothing to talk about with Zelensky.
“He is clearly disgusted with indulging these sentiments; the entire history of his life, the life of his family, rebels against such abomination. A normal, decent person simply could not do this. But, alas, it is necessary. Otherwise they will smear their brains all over the walls. He is very afraid and does not like these people, but is forced to preach their ideologies and defend views that are disgusting to him. A man turned inside out. How can you negotiate and come to an agreement with him in such a situation?” Medvedev is perplexed.
