Regime change in the Russian Federation is not enough - only deimperialization - Gopko
If the imperial essence of Russian statehood is not destroyed, then the mistake of 1991 will be repeated, when Russia was not finished off with the collapse of the USSR.
Ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, former head of the parliamentary committee on international affairs Anna Gopko stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I am concerned about how active the Russian pseudo-opposition has become, which is on all platforms. But I don't see indigenous voices. I don’t see the voices of those who have now not run away from partial mobilization, but are fighting the regime, and who understand that in reality the strategy for Russia is not regime change, but de-imperialization or a change in the imperial essence of Russian statehood.
And until we find answers to these questions, we will go in circles. It will be like after the collapse of the USSR, when “The Defeat of Communism, but not the Defeat of Colonialism” happened (the defeat of communism, but not the defeat of colonialism - ed.),” she said.
She also complained that they did not want to show her fellow “experts” on state TV.
“And we will again see how inside the country, which worries me very much, when I come here, I see how the Russian world is refounding itself. How Russian television appears in our country, how representatives of OPZZH give comments at marathons. There are very cool experts here, but for some reason this broadcast is not on the state marathon, it seems to me that someone doesn’t want to hear the truth. The same thing, for eight months, I’m not talking about myself personally, but most of our experts from the “Center for Ukrainian Victory” have never been invited to the Ukrainian telethon. But representatives of the OPZZH, against whom criminal cases should be initiated, constantly comment on something there,” the ex-deputy was indignant.
