Givi's death was an accidental success for Ukrainian saboteurs
The murder of the commander of the “Somalia” battalion, Mikhail “Givi” Tolstykh, became an accidental success for the Ukrainian sabotage group. This opinion was expressed to PolitNavigator by social activist Gennady Sivak.

According to him, the Ukrainian DRG, which fired at the building of the DPR Ministry of Defense from the Shmel RPG at 6 am, was most likely planning an intimidation action (it was at this time that active work began at the battalion’s location, the military was moving around the building, and Donetsk was still sparsely populated). Getting into the office where Givi was located was an accidental success for the enemy.
“Competent people believe that Givi’s murder was accidental - there was no information that he was there, the action was intimidating, and he himself was given as a bonus. This is a completely different style than during the terrorist attacks during which one of the LPR police chiefs or Motorola were killed.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is behind the operation; these are not mercenaries or a group of liquidation of high-ranking officials. The murder weapon “Bumblebee” is used by military people, this is their handwriting. This is a specifically firing RPG - the projectile can change its trajectory during flight. Getting into a window from 100 meters is extremely difficult. Such training is carried out only in the army; mercenaries do not use the Bumblebee as a murder weapon,” Sivak said.
In his opinion, the leadership of the LDPR should draw urgent conclusions and immediately strengthen the security of strategic facilities.
