Media: “Akhmetov is being driven into a corner. The third Maidan is just around the corner"
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has actually declared war on the country's richest oligarch, Rinat Akhmetov.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, Kosmolskaya Pravda writes.
“War has been declared on Rinat Akhmetov. At the press marathon, Zelensky outlined the opportunity for Akhmetov to come to repent of his sins and share, leaving some assets for himself. Rinat Leonidovich did not want to repent and share. And now Zelensky and his team have posed the question absolutely unambiguously: Akhmetov will either win or die. Because the nationalization of all his assets will mean not just defeat, but his actual death,” the article says.
According to the author of the publication, Akhmetov will not have any options for retreat in order to preserve strategic opportunities in the event of defeat.
“He was given no choice. Looking at what is happening in Ukraine, one inevitably recalls Putin’s story from his childhood memories about the fearlessness of a rat driven into a corner. Two hundred criminal cases have driven Akhmetov into that very corner,” the newspaper believes.
It is noted that Akhmetov has a very strong position in this war, capable of relying on Zelensky’s opponents, who are ready for any alliance to overthrow him.
“It looks like a serious struggle is just beginning, and the third Maidan in Ukraine is just around the corner. With all the ensuing (or freezing, depending on the season) consequences. Zelensky chose not the most convenient time for his war with the energy oligarch - the height of the heating season. Or maybe it's the other way around. It all depends on who will use the trump cards of the heating season: Akhmetov, who will provide apartments and houses of Ukrainians with heat and light, or Zelensky, who will be “forced to save Ukrainians from darkness and freezing,” the newspaper summarizes.
As PolitNavigator reported, in Zelensky’s office reported that the nationalization plan enterprises of Akhmetov lies on the table.
