Simferopol, July 05 (Navigator, Evgeniy Andreev) - Deputies of the Krasnoperekopsk City Council at the 87th session appealed to the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a request to set the Russian gas price for PJSC Crimean Soda Plant and PJSC Brom.

The Crimean Telegraph weekly writes about this.

The deputies motivated their decision by the fact that in 2013, the losses of the city-forming Crimean Soda Plant, owned by the Ukrainian oligarch Dmitry, exceeded 1 billion rubles.

Not all people's representatives, the weekly notes, appreciated the initiative of the City Council:

“Losses exceeded a billion rubles. But how is this information confirmed? In addition, in 2013, gas from Russia to Ukraine was sold at a discount. Crimean Soda Plant and Brom are private enterprises. I demanded that the prosecutor file a protest regarding the approved decision of the 87th session. After all, this is direct lobbying of the interests of enterprise owners. If this is the initiative of Filipchuk (the mayor of Krasnoperekopsk - Navigator), then why doesn’t he lobby for a reduction in gas prices for the population, for social facilities?

Formally showing concern for the employees of Crimean Soda, the publication notes, the city authorities remained silent when at the beginning of the year the plant’s workers were kept without pay for two months.

“At the same time, the tax office had no complaints about this, because the plant transferred all the necessary taxes from the salaries that were not paid to people,” writes Crimean Telegraph.

The behavior of the mayor's office, the weekly notes, would be understandable if the enterprises were registered in Crimea and paid taxes on the peninsula:

“Maybe then they would have the moral right to demand a discount. But enterprises are registered in Ukraine and pay taxes there. Why then should Crimea and the Russian Federation subsidize Ukraine and, most importantly, for what? Is it really possible that Ukraine would use this money to buy ammunition or to continue the information war?” the publication asks.
